Championship: All 12 midweek predictions - Week 8

Leaders Middlesbrough host Stoke on Tuesday night
Sheffield United look to build on Saturday's first win of the season against Southampton
Coventry take their unbeaten league record to Millwall on Wednesday
Just three points separate the teams in second and 11th in the Championship standings, with most clubs having played their first seven games.
With Middlesbrough four points clear at the top, we are looking ahead to all 12 midweek matches and have a score prediction for each one.
Birmingham vs Sheffield Wednesday (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
Birmingham's fast start to life in the second tier has petered out a little with four defeats in their last five league and cup matches. However, they remain unbeaten at home in the league and can get back on track against a Sheffield Wednesday side with only one win in 10 league and cup outings.
Score prediction: Birmingham 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday
Blackburn vs Swansea (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
Blackburn have lost all three of their league and cup games at Ewood Park this season but they are capable of getting a first home point on the board against Swansea. The visitors have lost two of their three league away matches but have drawn two of their last three Championship games and can share the spoils.
Score prediction: Blackburn 1-1 Swansea
Bristol City vs Ipswich (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
The penny seems to have dropped for Ipswich, who have recorded back-to-back wins after going without a victory in their first five league and cup matches. Bristol City lost to Oxford in their last home league fixture and could be vulnerable against the Tractor Boys.
Score prediction: Bristol City 1-3 Ipswich
Hull vs Preston (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
Hull are in the lower reaches of the early Championship table but they have won two of their first three home league games and can add a point when Preston visit. None of North End's four away games this season have produced more than two goals and a point apiece looks realistic.
Score prediction: Hull 1-1 Preston
Leicester vs Wrexham (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
Wrexham have won their last three league and cup away games but they face a tough test at Leicester as the Foxes have lost just once all season. The home side have drawn three in a row, though, and that sequence could continue in an entertaining encounter.
Score prediction: Leicester 2-2 Wrexham
Middlesbrough vs Stoke (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
First plays third at the Riverside, where leaders Middlesbrough can make it four home league wins from four. Stoke have taken only four points from their last four league games and are struggling for goals.
Score prediction: Middlesbrough 2-0 Stoke
Sheffield United vs Southampton (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
The return of Chris Wilder inspired Sheffield United to their first win of the season at Oxford, but they face a tougher test at home to Southampton. The Saints held leaders Middlesbrough to a draw on Saturday and they have the quality required to win on the road.
Score prediction: Sheffield United 1-2 Southampton
Derby vs Charlton (Tuesday, 8pm)
Charlton are going well on their return to the Championship, but while Derby have won only once so far this season, they have competed well against some strong teams in recent matches and can secure a welcome home win.
Score prediction: Derby 2-1 Charlton
Millwall vs Coventry (Wednesday, 7.45pm)
Millwall have suffered a couple of home defeats in the league already but the Lions are on a four-match unbeaten run and can make life difficult again for high-flying Coventry after beating them 2-1 in the EFL Cup. The Sky Blues have drawn three of their last four league games and may have to settle for another point.
Score prediction: Millwall 0-0 Coventry
Norwich vs West Brom (Wednesday, 7.45pm)
Norwich have surprisingly lost all four of their league and cup matches at Carrow Road this season and their fans could be set for more frustration when West Brom visit. The Baggies have already won on the road at Wrexham and Stoke and may add to the home side's worries.
Score prediction: Norwich 1-2 West Brom
Portsmouth vs Watford (Wednesday, 7.45pm)
Watford have had a mixed start to the season but they recorded a welcome home win over Hull on Saturday and can build on that on the south coast. Portsmouth have lost their last two games and look vulnerable again.
Score prediction: Portsmouth 0-2 Watford
QPR vs Oxford United (Wednesday, 8pm)
QPR had a slow start to the season but they have now taken 10 points from their last four games and should be able to secure another home success to keep Oxford in the bottom three. The visitors lost to previously winless Sheffield United on Saturday and have only one victory in their last seven league and cup games.
Score prediction: QPR 3-1 Oxford United
