Sheffield Wednesday vs Swansea predictions: Swans set to burst Owls' bubble

Sheffield Wednesday have taken one point from their opening three Championship matches
Swansea City have fared better, taking four points of a possible nine
Recommended bet: Swansea to win
Despite their off-field issues, Sheffield Wednesday's ability to shut out the noise and put in impressive performances on the pitch has garnered some solid results, most recently a penalty-shootout win over Premier League Leeds United in the League Cup.
Their league performances have been strong, too, and momentum should be high after last week's 2-2 draw at big-spending Wrexham.
However, their lack of depth cannot be ignored and they are still a weak side, regardless of their admirable spirit. Swansea, in contrast, are a settled side full of talent and are favourites for a reason.

Team news
Injuries to Di'Shon Bernard, Pierce Charles, Nathaniel Chalobah and Bruno Fernandes have left an already thin Wednesday squad even more depleted. Gabriel Otegbayo is also a doubt.
Filip Lisah and Ricardo Santos or Swansea two absentees. Zan Vipotnik came off the bench to score the equaliser in last week’s draw at Watford and may be rewarded with a start.
The stats
Alan Sheehan has lost just four of his 18 matches since becoming Swansea's permanent manager.
Sheffield Wednesday have won just one of their last 11 league games, while City have lost only two of their last 11 Championship matches.
Both teams have found the net in five of the Owls' last six Championship outings.
Both teams to score has been a winning bet in just two of the Swans' last seven away league games.
Swansea striker Zan Vipotnik has scored two goals in just 109 minutes this season.

Prediction
Wednesday's first-team players dug deep to earn a point at Wrexham last week, while their youngsters dug even deeper to knock Leeds out of the League Cup, but Swansea are a more settled side than that pair and can inflict more misery on the struggling Owls.
The Swans have lost just four games since appointing Alan Sheehan as manager and they have made a strong start to the season, drawing with Watford and beating Sheffield United.
Their sole defeat came at Middlesbrough but Wednesday are nowhere near the level of Boro, especially with three key men – Nathaniel Chalobah, Pierce Charles and Di’Shon Bernard – ruled out through injury.
In Ji-sung Eom, Ronald and Zan Vipotnik, Swansea have a dangerous front three and they should get plenty of chances, with the Swans’ style likely to lead to a dominant performance at Hillsborough.
It is worth noting that Wednesday's only point came against Wrexham, a side whose 40.9 per cent possession average is the third lowest in the Championship.
They were beaten by Stoke and Leicester, teams in the top half of the average-possession table, where Swansea also lie.
