QPR vs Charlton predictions: Addicks can heap more woe on Rangers

QPR need to pick themselves up after a humbling at Coventry
Charlton looking to bounce back from defeat to Leicester
Recommended bet: Charlton to win
QPR were shell-shocked last Saturday when they came across a rampant Coventry, who put five goals past them in the first 45 minutes in a 7-1 defeat at the CBS Arena.
Saturday’s game against new boys Charlton could prove a tough one with the Addicks unfortunate not to get something from last week’s home defeat to Leicester.
Team news
Rangers are set to be without long-term knee-injury victim Ziyed Larkeche, while Kwame Poku and Jake Clarke-Salter are also unlikely to feature.
New striker Richard Kone could get a chance to impress after coming off the bench to score the Hoops’ consolation effort in their thumping at Coventry, so the former Wycombe man may start.
Charlton are still set to be without striker Matt Godden, who continues to recover from a knee injury.
Nathan Jones is set to revert to his first-team line-up after giving the reserves the chance to shine in Tuesday’s 3-1 defeat to Cambridge in the EFL Cup.
The stats

Prediction
QPR have spent the week licking their wounds after suffering a 7-1 defeat at Coventry and life may not get better for the west London outfit as they host capital rivals Charlton on Saturday.
The R’s were blown away by five first-half goals against the Sky Blues and they may not receive much respite against a team who have already demonstrated they will be a tough nut to crack after winning the League One play-off final in May.
Charlton’s defence has proved the second tier’s toughest in the opening three weeks of the campaign and Nathan Jones’s side have been breached only by a spectacular effort from Leicester’s Abdul Fatawu in the Foxes’ 1-0 win at The Valley last Saturday.
The Addicks were probably good for at least a point in that game and while Rangers could put their faith in new striker Richard Kone, who looks capable of making the step up following his move from Wycombe, the Reds’ defence will be tough to breach.
The value looks to be with the visitors, who can make a breakthrough and then be relied upon to keep their opponents out at the other end.
