Portsmouth vs Norwich predictions: Canaries can fly high at Fratton Park

Norwich won 2-1 at Watford in the EFL Cup on Tuesday
Portsmouth have won only one of their last four home matches
Recommended bet: Norwich to win
Only three places and three points separated Portsmouth and Norwich in the Championship standings last season and the south-coast side made a better start this time, but the Canaries should prove the better team this season and offer some value to win at Fratton Park on Saturday.
Pompey achieved their main target last season of staying up after promotion from League One the year before, but it is hard to see them faring much better than last term's 16th place.
John Mousinho’s side opened their account for the season with a 1-0 win at Oxford last weekend, but both those sides are likely to be in the lower half of the table and Norwich have their sights set higher than that.
The Canaries would therefore be disappointed to have lost 2-1 at home to Millwall in their first league match under new manager Liam Manning, but there were more promising signs in their midweek EFL Cup win at Watford and, in Josh Sargent, they have an in-form forward who has scored in each of their first two games.
Pompey lost 2-1 to League One Reading in their midweek Fratton Park curtain-raiser but their fans would love a repeat of their last meeting with Norwich, when Colby Bishop scored a hat-trick in a 5-3 win at Carrow Road in April.

Team news
Portsmouth will be missing Harvey Blair and Marlon Pack due to injuries, while Josh Murphy (hamstring) is likely to remain sidelined. Yang Min-Hyeok, Florian Bianchini and Callum Lang are candidates to fill the wide positions.
Norwich will be without midfielder Amankwah Forson, who injured his hamstring against Millwall. Mathias Kvitsgaarden is a likely candidate to replace him in the starting line-up.
Papa Diallo made a positive impression against Watford and could come into the side, while midfielder Liam Gibbs made his return from injury as a substitute against the Hornets.

Prediction
Liam Manning had plenty of work to do after taking over a Norwich team that finished 13th in the Championship last season having come sixth the year before.
He had a tough first outing in charge as the Canaries were edged out at home by a talented Millwall team, but their midweek performance against Watford was more promising and Norwich look capable of picking up their first points under their new coach on Saturday.
Pompey had a less challenging task when facing Oxford in their opener and while they came through it successfully, there was not much in that game.
The midweek defeat to League One Reading is not a major concern as that came with a much-changed side but it highlighted a lack of depth available to manager John Mousinho.
Pompey are favourites at home and Norwich were not great travellers last season, but they look the value option at the prices to get their league campaign up and running.
