A place in the play-off round of the Champions League is at stake on Tuesday evening, when Fenerbahce aim to overturn a 2-1 first-leg deficit against Feyenoord at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.

An own-goal from Mert Muldur and a strike from Anis Hadj Moussa either side of Sofyan Amrabat's goal was enough to give the Dutch giants a slender advantage heading into the second leg.

Team news

Fenerbahce remain with Rodrigo Becao, who is sidelined with an ACL injury, while Diego Carlos, Cengiz Under and Emre Mor were not picked for the Champions League qualifiers.

The rest of the squad should be fresh and raring to go, after the Turkish Super Lig opener against Alanyaspor at the weekend was postponed.

Feyenoord have a number of defensive absentees, with centre-backs Thomas Beelen, Gernot Trauner, Jeremy Mitchell and Antef Tsoungui ruled out along with left-back Gijs Smal.

Midfielder Jakub Moder is also doubtful due to an unspecified problem, leaving head coach Robin van Persie with some selection decisions to make.

The stats

Fenerbahce lost the first leg of last season's Champions League third-round qualifier 2-1 against Lille before going down 3-2 on aggregate in the tie.

The Yellow Canaries are unbeaten at home in their last five matches in Europe's top competition.

Feyenoord have started the new season with two victories in a row, following up the triumph over Fenerbahce with a 2-0 success against NAC Breda in the Eredivisie.

De club aan de Maas failed to win any of their final four away Champions League games last season.

The Dutch outfit last kept a clean sheet on the road in this competition back in 2002, against Newcastle United.

Prediction

This looks like a tricky clash to call between two evenly matches sides, but given Fenerbahce need to win this leg to stand any chance of progressing, it should prove to be an entertaining affair.

Jose Mourinho's side have the benefit of home support and the Yellow Canaries have scored at least once in four of their last five assignments at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.

While Feyenoord have started the new campaign with two successive victories, they have a poor record on their travels in the Champions League and the fact that their last away shutout in this competition was 23 years ago is a big concern.

The Dutch giants also have a number of injuries to deal with at the back and this could provide a scoring chance for Fenerbahce forward Jhon Duran, who is pushing for a start after coming off the bench in the first leg.

The Colombia international joined the Turkish outfit on a season-long loan from Al-Nassr in July and he arrives in good form, having scored eight goals in 13 appearances for the Saudi Pro League team.
