Serie A Predictions - Week 25

&w=707&quality=100)
Napoli and Inter currently occupy the top two spots in the Serie A table but the pair both face tough challenges this week, with the Partenopei visiting fourth-placed Lazio on Saturday night while Simone Inzaghi’s men travel to face fifth-placed Juventus on Sunday in a much-anticipated Derby d'Italia.
At the opposite end of the table, bottom side Monza have a crucial game against fellow strugglers Lecce on Sunday.
Here we pick out a correct score selection for all 10 Serie A games across what is set to be an action-packed weekend of action from the Italian top flight.
Bologna vs Torino (Friday, 7.45pm)
Torino are unbeaten in their last eight league games and could make life difficult for a Bologna side who have drawn 11 of their 23 Serie A matches.
The visitors have recorded five 1-1 draws this season and could be set for another in what should be a competitive affair.
Score prediction: Bologna 1-1 Torino
Atalanta vs Cagliari (Saturday, 2pm)
&w=707&quality=100)
Atalanta were left reeling after conceding a controversial late penalty against Club Brugge in midweek but they should be able to bounce back with a domestic win against Cagliari to put pressure on the other title contenders after a rocky patch in the race for their first ever Scudetto.
Both teams have scored in 14 of the hosts’ last 17 home games however so the midtable visitors could get on the scoresheet in defeat, which would be their 13th of the season.
Score prediction: Atalanta 3-1 Cagliari
Lazio vs Napoli (Saturday, 5pm)
Napoli have drawn their last two Serie A matches and may have to settle for another stalemate against a Lazio team who have only lost twice at home all season but have been one of the leakiest teams in the top half.
Take both teams to find the net in what should be an entertaining affair between two of the top four but the pair may have to settle for a share of the spoils.
Score prediction: Lazio 2-2 Napoli
Milan vs Verona (Saturday, 7.45pm)
Milan have struggled for consistency this season but they should be able to grind out a win against Verona, who have lost 15 of their 24 league games.
Seven of the hosts’ last nine league outings have gone under 2.5 goals and they may rotate given their Champions League exploits but the Rossneri should be able to get the job done before their second leg against Feyenoord on Tuesday.
Score prediction: Milan 2-0 Verona
Fiorentina vs Como (Sunday, 11.30am)
Como have not been strong on the road, winning just one of their 12 Serie A away games this season.
They can usually be relied upon to find the net and may do so again when they visit Fiorentina, who will be looking to bounce back after defeat to Inter last time out.
Both teams have netted in 10 of the last 12 combined games for these teams and that looks likely once again.
Score prediction: Fiorentina 2-1 Como
Monza vs Lecce (Sunday, 2pm)
Monza have lost nine of their last 10 league games and are rock bottom of the table for a reason. They look likely fall to another defeat against Lecce, who have beaten Empoli and Parma in recent weeks and should be able to pull away from relegation trouble with another success on the road.
The hosts could get on the scoresheet as both teams have netted in four of their last five home league games, but they may ultimately come up short and plunge closer to the drop.
Score prediction: Monza 1-2 Lecce
Udinese vs Empoli (Sunday, 2pm)
Udinese have not been in the best form recently and are the lowest scorers in the top half of the table. They may be held to a draw against an Empoli side who have shared the spoils in nine of their 24 league games.
Six of those stalemates have ended a goal apiece and a repeat of that is well within the realms of possibility given both teams’ struggles in front of goal.
Score prediction: Udinese 1-1 Empoli
Parma vs Roma (Sunday, 5pm)
Roma have struggled away from home this season and may have to settle for another disappointing result on their travels. Claudio Ranieri’s men suffered a frustrating night against Porto in midweek, drawing 1-1 after being reduced to 10 men, and have drawn six of their 12 away matches in Serie A.
Parma are struggling but could take advantage of any fatigue in the visitors’ squad and secure a crucial point in their battle against relegation.
Score prediction: Parma 2-2 Roma
Juventus vs Inter (Sunday, 7.45pm)
&w=707&quality=100)
Juventus have only lost once all season and should put up a fight against an Inter side who are the top scorers in the division, netting 58 times in 24 encounters.
This should be an entertaining affair that Inter may just be able to edge on the road. Side with the visitors to outscore their opponents and add to their run of five unbeaten Derby d'Italia’s.
Score prediction: Juventus 2-3 Inter
Genoa vs Venezia (Monday, 7.45pm)
Venezia began the weekend second-bottom after losing 14 of their 24 league matches. They have won just three games and have struggled in front of goal, netting just 22 times.
They look likely to fall to another defeat against a Genoa outfit who have picked up wins against fellow strugglers Empoli, Parma and Monza in recent times.
The home side are hardly prolific themselves however so this looks set to be a tense affair on Monday.
Score prediction: Genoa 1-0 Venezia
