- Only two points separate Leeds and Sheffield United at the top of the table
- Sunderland have an 11-point advantage over Blackburn in fifth
- Only Cardiff and Hull are within three points of the drop zone

There's a full schedule of games over the weekend in the second tier, with Week 34 ending on Monday in a big game between the top two, Sheffield United and Leeds.

A double header kicks the matchweek off on Friday night with Middlesbrough travelling to Bristol City, while Burnley attempt to close the gap on the leaders when they host Sheffield Wednesday.

Bristol City vs Middlesbrough (Friday, 7.45pm)

Both teams have scored in 10 of Middlesbrough’s last 11 away games but they could halt their four-game losing run with a draw.

Score prediction: Bristol City 1-1 Middlesbrough

Burnley vs Sheffield Wednesday (Friday, 8pm)

Burnley have only conceded nine goals in 33 games and have kept a whopping 11 clean sheets in a row in the Championship. They could shutout a Sheffield Wednesday side who have won just two of their last nine in all competitions.

Score prediction: Burnley 2-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Sunderland vs Hull (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Sunderland are unbeaten in 16 home games and should get the better of a Hull side battling relegation, although the Tigers have netted in seven of their last eight outings.

Score prediction: Sunderland 3-1 Hull

Plymouth vs Cardiff (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Plymouth have won three on the spin at home in all competitions and could edge a Cardiff side who have only won one of their 16 away games in the Championship.

Score prediction: Plymouth 2-1 Cardiff

Derby vs Millwall (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Derby have lost five of their last seven in the league and have only netted twice in that run. Their struggles could be set to continue against a Millwall side who have the best defensive record in the bottom half.

Score prediction: Derby 0-1 Millwall

West Brom vs Oxford (Saturday, 3pm)

Oxford have taken just nine points from a possible 48 on the road this season and their struggles could continue against West Brom, who have been solid at home having lost just two of 16 games at The Hawthorns.

Score prediction: West Brom 2-1 Oxford

Portsmouth vs QPR (Saturday, 3pm)

Only five Championship teams have drawn more games than QPR’s 11 and they may have to settle for another against a Portsmouth side on the up.

Score prediction: Portsmouth 2-2 QPR

Swansea vs Blackburn (Saturday, 3pm)

Blackburn remain managerless but have won three of their last four and could see off a poor Swansea side who have lost six of their last seven games.

Score prediction: Swansea 0-2 Blackburn

Norwich vs Stoke (Saturday, 3pm)

Both of these teams have drawn 11 league games and they may have to settle for another stalemate, with Stoke having improved in recent weeks.

Score prediction: Norwich 1-1 Stoke

Coventry vs Preston (Saturday, 3pm)

Coventry are one of the form teams in the division, winning six of their last seven games in the league, and are fancied to see off Preston narrowly.

Score prediction: Coventry 2-1 Preston

Watford vs Luton (Sunday, 12pm)

Watford picked up a shock win over Middlesbrough last time out and could follow up to beat rivals Luton, who have fallen to 19 defeats in 33 games.

Score prediction: Watford 3-1 Luton

Sheffield United vs Leeds (Monday, 8pm)

Leeds were 2-0 winners over Sheffield United earlier in the season and could repeat the trick after they showed their battling spirit to come from behind to beat Sunderland 2-1 last time out.

Score prediction: Sheffield United 0-2 Leeds
