Championship Predictions - Week 28
- Leeds sit a point clear of Sheffield United at the top of the standings
- Just two points separates Stoke in 18th and Luton in 23rd
- Plymouth are five points adrift at the bottom of the table
There is a full midweek programme of Championship football to take in, with all 24 teams in action across Tuesday and Wednesday.
Blackburn vs Coventry (Tuesday, 7:45pm)
Blackburn remain in the play-off places despite Saturday's defeat at Oxford and they will hope to return to winning ways when inconsistent Coventry head to Ewood Park.
Frank Lampard's visitors have taken just one point from their last four road fixtures.
Score prediction: Blackburn 2-1 Coventry
Derby vs Sunderland (Tuesday, 7:45pm)
Derby have lost four Championship matches on the spin, including their last two at home, and they may come unstuck when promotion-chasing Sunderland visits Pride Park, although the Black Cats may have to grind out the three points.
Score prediction: Derby 0-1 Sunderland
Hull vs QPR (Tuesday, 7:45pm)
Hull hold the worst home record in the Championship and they could be in for another tough evening at the MKM Stadium when in-form QPR, who are chasing a fourth league win on the bounce, come to town.
Score prediction: Hull 0-1 QPR
Middlesbrough vs West Brom (Tuesday, 7:45pm)
Middlesbrough have drawn three of their last four at home and with play-off rivals and draw specialists West Brom set to visit the Riverside, this one could end all-square, although goals are expected at both ends.
Score prediction: Middlesbrough 1-1 West Brom
Oxford vs Luton (Tuesday, 7:45pm)
Oxford are strong at home and Luton have been dreadful on the road of late, losing 11 on the bounce away from Kenilworth Road across all competitions.
This should end in a comfortable home win for Gary Rowett's hosts.
Score prediction: Oxford 2-0 Luton
Swansea vs Sheffield United (Tuesday, 7:45pm)
Promotion-chasing Sheffield United have won three of their last four on the road and should prove too strong for a Swansea side that are good at home, but come into this on the back of a 3-0 derby defeat away at bitter rivals Cardiff.
Score prediction: Swansea 0-2 Sheffield United
Watford vs Preston (Tuesday, 7:45pm)
Watford have lost their last two outings at Vicarage Road — their only home defeats of the season — but they should end that losing run against visiting Preston, although hard to beat North End can head back north with a share of the spoils.
Score prediction: Watford 0-0 Preston
Millwall vs Cardiff (Tuesday, 8pm)
Millwall are yet to register a league win under new boss Alex Neil and against a Cardiff side that are unbeaten in six and on a high after their derby success against Swansea, they could come unstuck again.
Score prediction: Millwall 0-1 Cardiff
Leeds vs Norwich (Wednesday, 7:45pm)
League leaders Leeds boast the Championship's best home record, winning 11 of their 14 games at Elland Road, and against a Norwich side that have won just once on their travels since September and are without leading scorer Borja Sainz, they should emerge comfortable victors again.
Score prediction: Leeds 3-0 Norwich
Portsmouth vs Stoke (Wednesday,7:45pm)
Portsmouth are a different beast on home soil compared to on their travels, but they may have to settle for a point when Stoke head to Fratton Park as the Potters have become tough to beat following the arrival of Mark Robins as manager.
Score prediction: Portsmouth 1-1 Stoke
Sheffield Wednesday vs Bristol City (Wednesday, 7:45pm)
Sheffield Wednesday will be keen to bounce back from Sunday's loss at Leeds and they should prove too strong for poor travellers Bristol City in what could be an entertaining game at Hillsborough.
Score prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 3-2 Bristol City
Plymouth vs Burnley (Wednesday, 8pm)
Plymouth have improved over recent weeks but after losing at home to QPR on Saturday, they may struggle to overcome a Burnley side that boast by far and away the meanest defence in the Championship and are used to grinding out results.
Score prediction: Plymouth 0-1 Burnley
