&w=707&quality=100)
- Flamengo are unbeaten in their last nine games
- The Brazilians have kept seven clean sheets in their last eight matches
- Recommended bet: Flamengo or draw double chance
Flamengo and Chelsea both secured 2-0 wins in their opening group games and now the pair face off in what could be a crucial clash to decide who tops Group D.
Team news
Former Chelsea midfielder Jorginho made his Flamengo debut in their opening group game and could line up against the Premier League side here. Alex Sandro missed the Scarlet and Blacks’ opening clash against Esperance de Tunis and faces a late fitness test.
Enzo Fernandez and Liam Delap starred after coming off the bench in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over LAFC, combining for the second goal, and the pair will be pushing to start in this clash, with Romeo Lavia and Nicolas Jackson potentially having to make way.
The stats
Only one of Chelsea’s last six games have seen both teams score and seven of their last eight goals have come in the second half of matches.
Flamengo are unbeaten in 15 of their last 16 matches and currently top the Brazilian Serie A after conceding just four times in 11 league matches.
Giorgian de Arrascaeta has three goals in his last four appearances for his side while Enzo Fernandez has netted four in his last five games.

Prediction
There will be some familiar faces taking on Chelsea in this Club World Cup as ex-Blues full-back Filipe Luis leads Flamengo, who are likely to have Jorginho anchoring their midfield.
It is hard not to be impressed by the form of the Scarlet and Blacks this season. They are unbeaten in 15 of their last 16 games and have conceded only four goals in 11 league matches.
Luis’ men barely got out of second gear in a 2-0 win over Esperance de Tunis in their opening group game and they look overpriced to get a result against this Chelsea team.
The Blues have been in solid form themselves but may not quite be as sharp as Flamengo, who are in the middle of their season.
Enzo Maresca’s side beat LAFC 2-0 in their first clash but this is a significant step up on those opponents. This is a Brazilian outfit that was only narrowly beaten 1-0 by Liverpool in the final of this competition in 2019.
The Scarlet and Blacks are one of the most formidable South American sides and look a decent bet to at least avoid defeat.
