After an international break, FA Cup action and a midweek card of league matches, the Premier League returns for its usual weekend schedule on Saturday.

The clock is ticking for fantasy football players as we head into matchday 31 and there is still ample opportunity to get the edge over friends, family and colleagues.

Ahead of the weekend's games, here is a look at five players you should consider selecting in your fantasy team.

Nick Pope, Newcastle (Goalkeeper)

Nick Pope was relatively quiet in Newcastle's EFL Cup final win over Liverpool last month and he could also have an easy time of it against Leicester on Monday.

The Magpies will have faced Brentford on Wednesday and that is a tough assignment but Leicester, even at the King Power Stadium, are unlikely to cause problems.

The Foxes scored just 25 times in their first 29 league fixtures and were on a run of six successive matches without scoring prior to their clash with Man City on Wednesday.

Pedro Porro, Tottenham (Defender)

Tottenham are another side who will likely be largely untested on matchday 31 as they take on shotshy basement boys Southampton on Sunday, following a visit to London rivals Chelsea on Thursday.

Clean sheets have been hard to come by for Ange Postecoglou's men this season and they are not the most defensively sound, but they should fancy their chances of shutting out the Saints.

And with that in mind, flying full-back Pedro Porro could be worth selecting.

Porro has chipped in with five assists in the Premier League this season and that attacking intent, coupled with the high chances of a clean sheet, render him a smart pick.

Eberechi Eze could have an impact for Crystal Palace as they take on rivals Brighton

Eberechi Eze, Crystal Palace (Midfielder)

Midfielder Eberechi Eze was eyecatching in Crystal Palace's 3-0 win over Fulham in the FA Cup quarter-finals and he is worth keeping onside on matchday 31.

Eze registered a goal and an assist against the Cottagers and should be full of confidence this week as Palace take on Southampton and Brighton.

The rivalry clash with Brighton is on matchday 31 and Eze has already shown he can be a player for the big occasion, so he could be worth selecting as he aims to keep Palace's good form going.

Bukayo Saka, Arsenal (Midfielder)

This selection is by no means a frugal one with Bukayo Saka setting fantasy players back by about £10.3 million at time of writing, but the winger's return from injury will mean many want him back in their squad.

After a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Saka returned with what turned out to be the winning goal in Arsenal's clash with Fulham on Tuesday.

He has been a creative force all season for the Gunners, laying on ten assists, while he has also scored six times and he will be eager to make his mark when Arsenal take on Everton at lunchtime on Saturday.

Omar Marmoush, Man City (Forward)

This is another obvious but important switch to make heading into Gameweek 31.

An ankle injury sustained in the FA Cup quarter-final win over Bournemouth means Erling Haaland will be out for up to seven weeks for Man City and someone else has to step up to the plate.

Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush is the obvious candidate to step in and he already has four league goals to his name since joining the club earlier this year.

City have a derby clash against Manchester United on Sunday but the Red Devils continue to falter and Marmoush can help City over the line at Old Trafford.
