Everton vs Arsenal predictions: Blues to bounce back from derby defeat

&w=707&quality=100)
- Everton have only lost three of their 12 games under David Moyes
- Arsenal have failed to win three of their last five away games
- Recommended bet: Everton win or draw double chance
Everton narrowly lost Wednesday’s Merseyside derby at Liverpool, but the Toffees have been resurgent since the second coming of David Moyes and they could spring a surprise against Arsenal on Saturday.
The Gunners managed to secure a win in their midweek fixture at home to Fulham, but they have not been overly convincing on the road and, with the Premier League title race all but over, they may have one eye on next week’s Champions League meeting with Real Madrid.
Team news
Everton trio Orel Mangala, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Dwight McNeil are close to a return but may still miss out on Saturday, while Iliman Ndiaye came off the bench on Wednesday to prove his fitness and is in contention to start.
Arsenal centre-back Gabriel lasted just 16 minutes before being forced off against Fulham and is unlikely to feature at Goodison Park.
He will join Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kai Havertz, and Riccardo Calafiori on the sidelines. Bukayo Saka made a welcome return off the bench, though, and he is now pushing to be back in the starting line-up.
The stats
Everton have taken four points from their last five meetings with Arsenal.
Arsenal have drawn five of their last 10 Premier League away games.
Everton are unbeaten in five Premier League home fixtures.
The Gunners’ only league away wins in their last five attempts have come against bottom-five opponents.
Prediction
Everton’s latest trip to the red side of Merseyside saw them head back to blue quarters empty handed, but a 1-0 defeat to the runaway Premier League leaders is nothing to be ashamed of, and they look a good price to bounce back against Arsenal on Saturday.
The Toffees have lost just three times since Moyes returned to the club in January and they are unbeaten in five home league games, including meetings with Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Arsenal are clear favourites, but the 12-point gulf between them and Liverpool looks unassailable and Mikel Arteta may be tempted to rotate his squad ahead of a crucial Champions League tie with Real Madrid next week.

The Gunners have failed to win three of their last five competitive away games and saw their injury woes added to with the first-half departure of Gabriel in midweek, so Everton could be in line to spring a surprise at Goodison Park.
