England vs West Indies 3rd ODI predictions: Skipper Brook could punish bowlers again

&w=707&quality=100)
- Joe Root became England's highest ODI runscorer during his unbeaten 166 in Sunday's second ODI
- West Indies number three Keacy Carty has scored three centuries in his last four ODIs
- Recommended bet: Harry Brook to be England top runscorer
England hammered the West Indies by 238 runs in the first ODI at Edgbaston but they were made to work much harder for victory at Sophia Gardens on Sunday.
Keacy Carty's century and a sublime spell of fast bowling from Alzarri Joseph left the hosts in trouble at 133-5 chasing a target of 309.
But Joe Root, the coolest man in Cardiff, saw his side home with a magnificent unbeaten 166 and England are hot favourites to wrap up a 3-0 series win at The Oval on Tuesday.
Team news
Jamie Overton has joined fellow fast bowlers Gus Atkinson, Jofra Archer, Olly Stone and Mark Wood on the sidelines. Matthew Potts, who replaced Overton in Cardiff, went wicketless in nine overs so left-armer Luke Wood could come into the side.
The West Indies hope to have opener Evin Lewis available for the final match of the series. Middle-order batter Shimron Hetmyer is likely to be preferred to Amir Jangoo despite being dismissed for four on Sunday.
The stats
&w=707&quality=100)
England's 238-run win in the first ODI was their second-highest winning margin in terms of runs.
Paceman Saqib Mahmood has taken two or more wickets in seven of his eight home ODIs.
Harry Brook has taken seven catches in the first two games of this series.
The West Indies have had opening stands of three, 20, four, eight and six in their last five ODIs.
Windies captain Shai Hope has scored two centuries and two fifties in his last eight ODIs against England.
Fast bowler Alzarri Joseph claimed 5-56 in his only previous one-day match at The Oval in September 2017.
Prediction
England have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match ODI series against the West Indies after contrasting victories in their first two games under new captain Harry Brook.
Their top seven all contributed to an imposing total of 400-8 in the series opener at Edgbaston, where Jacob Bethell top-scored with 82.
But the Windies responded well with bat and ball in Cardiff and England needed a Joe Root special to drag them to a thrilling three-wicket win.
Skipper Brook has led by example in the field, taking a record-equalling five catches in the first ODI and pouching two more in the second game.
He also looks in ominous touch with the bat and should be backed to be England's top runscorer at The Oval on Tuesday.
The Yorkshireman looked set for a big score in the first ODI, reaching 58 off 45 balls before drilling a catch to the fielder on the cover boundary.
Brook hit five fours and three sixes in that knock and counter-attacked well in the second ODI, coming in after England openers Jamie Smith and Ben Duckett were both dismissed for nought.
The skipper struck 47 off 36 balls and he showcased his 50-over talent in last summer's home series against world champions Australia, scoring 110 not out, 87 and 72 in the final three matches.
