Chris Wilder and Sheffield United are looking to secure an instant return to the Premier League

- Sunderland have won just one of their last eight fixtures
- Leyton Orient are on a nine-game unbeaten run
- AFC Wimbledon have won their last three matches by a 1-0 scoreline

Six teams have made it through to Wembley where the Championship, League One and League Two play-off finals will take place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Sheffield United take on Sunderland for a place in the Premier League, while London rivals Charlton and Leyton Orient are preparing to slug it out in the third-tier finale.

And the Bank Holiday weekend concludes with a fascinating clash between League Two rivals AFC Wimbledon and Walsall, who finished fifth and fourth in the fourth tier.

Sheffield United vs Sunderland (Saturday, 3.01pm)

Sheffield United were gutted to miss out on automatic promotion but have responded superbly in the play-offs and can finish the job by defeating Sunderland under the famous arch.

The Blades ended up with 90 points after winning 28 of their Championship fixtures.

Chris Wilder’s side were top of the table with seven games to go but went through a sticky patch in early April, sustaining losses away to Oxford (0-1), at home to Millwall (0-1) and away to Plymouth (1-2), and were unable to recover the lost ground.

However, they finished the season strongly and were outstanding in their play-off semi-final against Bristol City — registering 3-0 wins at both Ashton Gate and Bramall Lane.

Sunderland’s passage to Wembley was sealed in dramatic fashion when Dan Ballard’s extra-time header clinched a 3-2 aggregate triumph over Coventry.

But the Black Cats were unconvincing for large parts of their semi-final and they may struggle to cope with Sheffield United, who finished 14 points above them in the table.

Score prediction: Sheffield United 2-0 Sunderland

Charlton vs Leyton Orient (Sunday, 1.01pm)

There could be a surprise in store in the League One final with Leyton Orient looking capable of defeating Charlton.

League form favours Charlton, who finished seven points higher and won both meetings between the teams (1-0 at The Valley and 2-1 at Brisbane Road).

But Charlton were far from fluent over the course of their 1-0 aggregate semi-final success over Wycombe and they face a trickier task against Orient, who are playing with lots of confidence.

Orient took part in a couple of enthralling matches against Stockport in their play-off semi-final — drawing 2-2 in the capital and 1-1 at Edgeley Park — before advancing 4-1 on penalties.

Richie Wellens’ side are unbeaten since early April and have the quality to see off Charlton this weekend.

Score prediction: Charlton 1-2 Leyton Orient

AFC Wimbledon vs Walsall  (Monday, 3.01pm)

AFC Wimbledon kept 21 clean sheets over the course of the League Two season and their solid defence could be key to defeating Walsall.

Johnnie Jackson’s side picked up a pair of 1-0 wins over semi-final opponents Notts County and can achieve a similar outcome against Walsall, who struggled in the final third of the campaign.

The Saddlers found a response in their semi-final, winning 4-1 on aggregate against Chesterfield, but they could be edged aside by the Wombles, who have established a knack of winning tight games.

Score prediction: AFC Wimbledon 1-0 Walsall
