Armando Dobra’s early goal gave Chesterfield a 1-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon to make it four wins in a row for Paul Cook’s men.
Dobra struck in the third minute, beating goalkeeper Owen Goodman with a cushioned volley after meeting Liam Mandeville’s cross.
Dobra tried an effort from distance soon after which was deflected wide while Ollie Banks put a free-kick over as the hosts looked to build on their lead.
The visitors then enjoyed a good spell of possession although without testing home keeper Max Thompson.
Soon after the restart, Wimbledon’s Matty Stevens tried a curling effort from the right-hand side of the penalty area which went over the bar.
Banks then found substitute James Berry in a good position but his shot was saved by Goodman.
The visitors struck the woodwork twice in a matter of seconds through Alistair Smith and Josh Kelly while Josh Neufville volleyed wide as Chesterfield hung on.
