Crystal Palace vs Millwall predictions: Goals to flow south of the river

&w=707&quality=100)
- Crystal Palace are enjoying a strong run and beat Aston Villa 4-1 on Tuesday
- Millwall are pushing for the play-offs in the Championship, sitting six points off the top six
- Recommended bet: Both teams to score
The FA Cup fifth round has thrown up some intriguing ties, including Saturday’s south London derby between Crystal Palace and Millwall at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles will be feeling full of confidence following their 4-1 rout of Aston Villa on Tuesday, but the nature of Saturday’s clash being a derby means Championship Millwall, who have been in good form themselves, will be highly motivated and could also play their part in a thriller.
Team news
Long-term absentees Joel Ward, Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure remain out for the hosts.
Oliver Glasner has kept changes to a minimum during the cup competitions this term and he should name a strong side for this last-16 clash, although Romain Esse, a January arrival from Millwall, will be keen to get some minutes against his former side.
Calum Scanlon, Dan McNamara, Ryan Leonard and Macauley Langstaff are out for the Lions and Raees Bangura-Williams, who missed the visitors’ recent win over Derby, is a doubt.

The stats
Crystal Palace have won six of their last eight games.
Both teams have scored in eight of the Eagles’ last nine home matches.
Millwall have lost just three of their 13 games under Alex Neil.
Palace were 2-1 winners when these sides last met in 2022.
Prediction
Crystal Palace come into this last-16 tie as strong favourites and it is easy to see why.
The Eagles have been in flying form of late, winning six of their last eight games, and will fancy their chances of making the quarter-finals having drawn lower-league opposition for the third straight round.
However, while Oliver Glasner’s side were brilliant in their 4-1 hammering of Villa on Tuesday, the FA Cup can often spur sides on — just ask Premier League leaders Liverpool, who were beaten 1-0 by Championship strugglers Plymouth in the last round — and Millwall will not go down without a fight, especially against their London rivals.
The Lions have been in decent form themselves, winning six and losing just three of their 13 games since appointing Alex Neil at the end of December, and they should give their all in this south London derby.
A lot of Palace’s recent best work has been done on their travels and clean sheets have been hard to come by at Selhurst Park, with both teams scoring in eight of the Eagles’ last nine home games.
The exception in that run was a 1-0 win over League One Stockport in the third round of this tournament and Millwall, who boast plenty of dangerous attackers, are likely to score alongside their hosts on Saturday.
