Crystal Palace to win

Crystal Palace will be hoping to continue their impressive run of form when they welcome a stumbling Brighton to Selhurst Park for Premier League action on Saturday.

The Eagles' form has picked up since the turn of the year and they now find themselves eyeing a top-half finish, while they also have an FA Cup semi-final tie against Aston Villa on the horizon.

Brighton's results have dipped over the past couple of weeks and though they are still very much in the running for a European place, they cannot afford many more mistakes with so little time left this season.

Team news

Palace are expected to recall Will Hughes to the starting XI following his suspension, while Chris Richards could be in contention after spending some time on the sidelines because of a calf problem.

Cheick Doucoure is out for the season and Chadi Riad is not due back until January 2026 after rupturing his ACL.

Brighton's injury list was added to recently with Georginio Rutter and Adam Webster both "possibly" out for the remainder of the campaign.

Igor Julio, Tariq Lamptey, Jason Steele, James Milner, Ferdi Kadioglu and Joel Veltman are also sidelined.

The stats

Palace's 1-1 draw at Southampton on Wednesday extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to six matches.

The Eagles have won their last three matches at Selhurst Park, beating Villa and Ipswich in the league either side of an FA Cup triumph over Millwall.

Brighton have lost two games in a row heading into this contest, going down to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on penalties and then losing 3-0 at Villa in the top-flight on Wednesday.

The Seagulls' recent away form in the league has been mixed, with a 7-0 thrashing at the hands of the Tricky Trees followed by a win at Southampton and a draw against Manchester City.

Prediction

Given the attacking nature of Brighton's play, this could turn out to be a free-flowing game at Selhurst Park and it is a contest that Palace can come out on top in.

Albion have shown this season that they prefer attack over defence and with their willingness to get forward, they are often left exposed at the back and this counter-attacking Eagles side can punish them.

Oliver Glasner's side have really picked things up since the turn of the year, losing just two of their 10 league matches in 2025, and their run to the FA Cup semi-finals highlights the quality they have.

With Eberechi Eze pulling the strings and Jean Philippe-Mateta back to fitness after a head injury suffered against Millwall, the hosts have enough about them to overcome a Brighton team who have dropped off over the last couple of weeks.
