  • Oval Invincibles have won five of their seven games this season

  • The Invincibles won the teams' first meeting with 31 balls to spare

  • Recommended bet: Oval Invincibles to win

Oval Invincibles have already qualified for the final stages of the Hundred as they chase a hat-trick of titles, but they still have plenty to play for as they host London Spirit in their final group game.

The Invincibles are locked in a three-way battle with the Northern Superchargers and the Trent Rockets to top the standings and go straight through to the Final, rather than contesting the Eliminator between the second and third-placed sides.

The Spirit's hopes of extending their season could be extinguished before this game starts if the Superchargers beat the Welsh Fire on Sunday to move out of reach, but will be motivated by the chance to avenge their opening defeat to their London rivals.

Team News

If the Invincibles make any changes to their line-up after their defeat by the Superchargers on Saturday it is likely to be to their bowlers after four of them were taken for more than two runs per ball. Their top six batters all reached double figures.

The Spirit could make changes for this game, especially if they are eliminated from contention for the knockout stage by Sunday's results, but they performed well in all areas against the Southern Brave, so could stick with a winning side.

The stats

The Invincibles' Jordan Cox was the top scorer in the competition before Sunday's games with 280 runs in seven innings.

Cox has the joint-highest score in this season's Hundred with 86 not out.

The Invincibles have three of the top four wicket-takers in the competition in Rashid Khan (12), Sam Curran (11) and Jason Behrendorff (10).

Oval Invincibles have the highest first-wicket partnership this season with 114 by Tawanda Muyeye and Will Jacks.

The Spirit were bowled out for 80 in 94 balls in the teams' first meeting.

Prediction

It is crunch time in The Hundred with the champion Oval Invincibles still in the hunt for a third straight title success as they prepare to host their rivals from the capital, London Spirit, in Kennington on Monday.

The Invincibles have a point to prove after being blown away by the Northern Superchargers' batters in a high-scoring game at Headingley on Saturday, but their own top-order hitters were in good shape, coming up 16 short chasing a mammoth total of 198.

The Oval side's bowlers fared much better in the first meeting between these sides, dismissing the Spirit for just 80 at Lord's in the opening match of this season's competition and knocking off the runs with 31 balls to spare.

The Spirit restored some confidence with Saturday's impressive win over Southern Brave to keep their season alive but it is likely to prove a forlorn effort and the motivated Invincibles should be able to secure the win to maintain their hopes of taking top spot.
