Ireland vs England third T20 predictions: Phil to show he is worth his Salt

England won the first T20 by four wickets with 14 balls to spare thanks to Phil Salt's 89
Salt struck England's highest ever T20 score of 141 not out against South Africa in his previous innings
Recommended bet: Phil Salt to score over 29.5 runs
Persistent rain ruined Ireland's chances of winning their T20 series with England as Friday's second game was abandoned without a ball being bowled, meaning the tourists go into Sunday's third and final T20 with a 1-0 lead after their four-wicket win in the opener on Wednesday.
The good news for the sold-out crowd at The Village in Malahide, Dublin, on Sunday is that the weather prospects for the finale are much better, although still with the potential for a shower or two.
It has been a frustrating summer for the hosts with this series having originally been pencilled in for June, while the three-game series against West Indies was also badly affected by the weather, with two matches having to be abandoned.
England won the opening match in the series by four wickets with Phil Salt playing another scintillating innings at the top of the order, cracking 89 off 46 balls as the tourists reached their victory target of 197 with 14 balls to spare.

Team news
Ireland are without front-line bowlers Josh Little and Mark Adair and are likely to stick with the same line-up that played in the first T20, having proved somewhat competitive in posting 196-3.
Ben Calitz will be hoping for a first cap but may find it tough to force his way into the side. Curtis Campher might be the most likely to make way having bowled only one over while not getting a chance with the willow.
England are likely to rotate at least a couple of players with Jordan Cox and Sonny Baker expected to play, although the latter's county colleague Scott Currie will not feature having been released back to Hampshire for the One-Day Cup final.
With Liam Dawson also staying on England duty, Rehan Ahmed might be most in danger of dropping out of the side, while Matthew Potts and Tom Hartley are likely to be behind Baker in the pace pecking order.

The stats
Wednesday's match was England's first win over Ireland in a T20 at the third attempt, after a washout in the 2010 World T20 and a five-run win (DLS) for the Men in Green at the 2022 World Cup, the Three Lions going on to win both competitions.
Phil Salt has scored four of England's eight centuries in T20 cricket with the most recent coming in the second T20 against South Africa earlier this month, cracking an unbeaten 141 to post the Three Lions' highest ever individual score.
The Lancashire opener followed up that innings with a blistering 89 at this venue in the first match of this series, sharing an opening partnership of 74 with Jos Buttler (28) which came in just 4.4 overs.
Jordan Cox was easily the leading scorer in this season's Hundred with his tally of 367 runs a whopping 84 clear of his nearest challenger, Jos Buttler (283), while he also struck the most sixes with 22.

Prediction
England have beaten Ireland only once but they are strong and worthy favourites to complete a 2-0 series win with a second success in as many completed games on Sunday.
Ireland showed their capabilities with the bat, posting 196-3 and striking 12 sixes to England's 10 in the opener, but with an attack shorn of Little and Adair, they are likely to struggle to contain a powerful batting line-up for the tourists on a ground that rewards big shots.
And given his recent form with an unbeaten 141 and 89 in his last two knocks, a run line of 29.5 is eminently in range for Phil Salt.
