England vs South Africa 3rd ODI predictions: Archer can underline his importance

South Africa (97-5) beat England (54-5) by 14 runs (DLS method) in the first T20
England (304-2) exacted revenge with a 146-run win in the second
Jofra Archer took 3-25 as the Three Lions dismissed the Proteas for 158 on Friday
Recommended bet: Archer to be England's top bowler
It is winner takes all going into Sunday's third and final T20 international after England emphatically won Friday's second match to level the series at 1-1.
South Africa had won a rather farcical rain-affected opener as they look to double up on their ODI-series success but they simply had no answer to the hosts' top-order pairing of Phil Salt and Jos Buttler at Old Trafford.
Buttler took the initiative early on, smashing 83 off just 30 balls in an opening partnership of 126, before Salt took up the mantle, clubbing England's fastest ever century (39 balls) on his way to a blistering 141 not out, striking eight maximums and 15 fours in his 60-ball innings, that saw the Three Lions post a mammoth 304-2.
Perhaps after a demoralising inning in the field, particularly after winning the toss, the Proteas could not maintain the run-chase after racing to 50 inside four overs, losing regular wickets on their way to a 146-run defeat.
England have the momentum going into the decider at Trent Bridge on Sunday, although the tourists at least have the confidence of their ODI series success to fall back on.

Team news
England are unlikely to make too many changes to their winning formula with the series on the line, with Jofra Archer brought in for Jamie Overton in one change for the game at Old Trafford.
Overton, Saqib Mahmood and Brydon Carse could come into the pace attack if England rotate, with Rehan Ahmed hoping for a spinning berth.
South Africa are expected to make a change to their bowling attack after their struggles on Friday with Corbin Bosch likely to return, with Lizaad Williams perhaps making way.

The stats
Phil Salt scored the fastest T20 century ever by an England player, taking just 39 balls to reach three figures on Friday.
Salt's unbeaten 141 is England's highest ever individual score in a T20I, surpassing Danni Wyatt-Hodge's 124.
England's total of 304-2 was their highest ever in this format, and the highest between any two full-member nations.
Of England's eight centuries in T20 cricket, Salt has scored four of them.
While only Bjorn Fortuin (2-52) took any wickets for South Africa on Friday, Lizaad Williams was the most expensive as he went for 62 off just three overs.

Prediction
England will hope that momentum remains on their side and it is understandable they are the favourites to take the series, but they still look too short in the most unpredictable format to have the utmost faith that they can back up Friday's result.
Salt's own form indicates how volatile T20 cricket can be, with his record-breaking score coming on the back of a first-ball dismissal in the opener.
Still, he remains an obvious runner in the batting markets, alongside his opening partner Buttler, who certainly justify their leading positions to lead the way for the hosts.
However, a chance is taken on Jofra Archer to continue his excellent run of form to finish as England's top bowler.
After registering figures of 4-62 and 4-16 in the final two ODIs, Archer missed the opening T20 but showed his obvious potency by taking 3-25 on a pitch that seemed to offer little assistance to the bowlers.
Taking 11 wickets in his last three matches, he is clearly on song and South Africa have hardly shown their ability to keep him at bay.
Back Archer to finish as England's top bowler at 11/4 with LiveScore Bet.
