Cove Rangers got their William Hill League One promotion bid back on track with a 3-1 win at bottom club Dumbarton.

Rangers had lost their last two in a four-game run without a victory, but took control with first-half goals from Dylan Lobban and Fraser Fyvie.

Although already-relegated Dumbarton reduced the deficit early in the second half through Kristian Webster, Lobban grabbed his second with nine minutes left.

Queen of the South beat 10-man Montrose 2-1 at Palmerston Park for a third straight win to keep themselves in the top four.

Adam Brooks gave the home side an early lead, with Montrose midfielder Terry Masson sent off late in the first half for a second caution.

Jordan Allan struck a second just after the hour, with Montrose getting a late consolation from Blair Lyons.

Alloa beat Annan 1-0 with a second-half goal from Magnus MacKenzie, while late strikes from Luke McCarvel and Robbie Cole saw Kelty Hearts win 2-0 at Inverness.

In League Two, Peterhead kept themselves on course for the title with a 1-0 win over Spartans.

Cammy Smith’s goal midway through the first half proved decisive.

East Fife sit four point back after a 2-0 win at bottom club Bonnyrigg Rose, who finished with 10 men and slipped closer to the relegation play-off.

Nathan Austin put the visitors ahead early in the second half, with Bonnyrigg forward Ryan Porteous sent off just after the hour for two cautions.

East Fife substitute Adam Laaref scored a second in stoppage time, leaving Bonnyrigg seven points adrift with three games left.

Edinburgh City beat promotion rivals Elgin 2-0 at Meadowbank with goals in each half from Malik Zaid and Innes Lawson.

A brace from Ryan Shanley helped Stirling beat Stranraer 3-1 to keep alive their own top-four hopes while strugglers Clyde and Forfar battled out a 1-1 draw at New Douglas Park.
