Luis Enrique's PSG look almost unstoppable right now
Luis Enrique's PSG look almost unstoppable right now

- Palmeiras meet Al Ahly at MetLife Stadium
- Lionel Messi's Inter Miami take on European opposition when they meet Porto
- Seattle Sounders and Atletico Madrid are both aiming to bounce back from defeats
- Paris Saint-Germain look to impress again when they tackle Botafogo

The second round of fixtures at the FIFA Club World Club begin on Thursday with Group A and B once again taking centre stage.

Group A is still waiting for its first goal after a pair of goalless draws in the first round of fixtures.

There were winners and losers in Group B, though, with Seattle Sounders and Atletico Madrid already in danger of being eliminated when they clash in Washington state after losing their opening games.

Palmeiras vs Al Ahly (Thursday, 5pm)

Palmeiras were frustrated by Porto goalkeeper Claudio Ramos in their opening match but had much the better of the contest against a solid European team and they should get their first win on the board when they face Al Ahly.

The Egyptian side could also have been going into this game with three points after having plenty of chances in the tournament's opening match against Inter Miami. The penalty by Trezeguet that was saved was far from their only chance of scoring and they looked extremely slick on the counter-attack.

This is a tougher fixture against a team who are currently just two points off the top of the table in Brazil, though, and Palmeiras should prevail in a match that finally brings goals to Group A.

Score prediction: Palmeiras 3-1 Al Ahly

Inter Miami vs Porto (Thursday, 8pm)

Inter Miami were in their home stadium for their opening match against Al Ahly, but the MLS side have to go on the road to Atlanta for their second Group A fixture and Lionel Messi and co will also be taking on tougher opponents in Porto.

The American outfit escaped with a clean sheet in their opener but a repeat of that looks unlikely and they could suffer their first defeat of the tournament.

The Portuguese side didn't have a great season, finishing third in the league and failing to make much of an impression in the Europa League, but they won seven of their last nine Primeira League games and could grind out a narrow win against a vulnerable defence.

Score prediction: Inter Miami 1-2 Porto

Seattle Sounders vs Atletico Madrid (Thursday, 11pm)

Atletico Madrid ran into the PSG juggernaut in their opening Club World Cup fixture, losing 4-0 to the Champions League winners, but they may be able to take out their frustrations on the Seattle Sounders.

The Sounders have home advantage at Lumen Field but they don't have much else going for them. They lost back-to-back MLS games to Minnesota United and the Vancouver Whitecaps before this tournament and while they put up a spirited show in the second half of their 2-1 defeat against Botafogo in their opener, they could be outclassed again.

Score prediction: Seattle Sounders 0-3 Atletico Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain vs Botafogo (Friday, 2am)

Everything Paris Saint-Germain touch is turning to gold at the moment and they can overcome 2024 Copa Libertadores champions Botafogo in the headline game on Thursday night's Club World Cup schedule.

PSG breezed past Atletico Madrid 4-0 in their opener, although their final two goals came late on after Atleti had been reduced to 10 men when defender Clement Lenglet was sent off.

Botafogo started strongly but faded in their win over Seattle and they need to step up their game if they are to get close to the European champions.

Score prediction: Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 Botafogo
