Club World Cup: Predictions for all eight round-of-16 games

&w=707&quality=100)
- Paris Saint-Germain have won seven of their last eight matches
- Manchester City scored 13 goals in their three group games
- Real Madrid have scored at least twice in eight of their last nine outings
Manchester City are favourites to win the newly expanded Club World Cup following their 5-2 victory over Juventus on Thursday and they will hope to book their quarter-final spot by beating Saudi Pro League Al-Hilal in their last-16 clash.
That defeat means Juve will now face Real Madrid in the tie of the round, while Lionel Messi will face one of his former clubs when Inter Miami lock horns with Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.
Palmeiras vs Botafogo (Saturday, 5pm)
Botafogo will be delighted to have got through a group that contained Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid and the draw has been kind with them being paired with fellow Brazilians Palmeiras.
Four points separate these teams in their domestic league and it would not be a surprise if this one went to extra time, particularly with the two having played out a 0-0 draw in their last meeting in March.
Score prediction: Palmeiras 1-1 Botafogo
Benfica vs Chelsea (Saturday, 9pm)
Chelsea have blown hot and cold in this tournament, having been beaten by Flamengo in the group stages, and Benfica will provide a tough test having come back from two goals down to draw with Boca Juniors before beating Bayern Munich to top Group C. The Portuguese outfit can continue their march to the last eight.
Score prediction: Benfica 2-1 Chelsea
Paris Saint-Germain vs Inter Miami (Sunday, 5pm)
&w=707&quality=100)
Lionel Messi inspired Inter Miami to a win over Porto, but his side allowed a two-goal lead to slip against Palmeiras and Paris Saint-Germain will seize upon any similar generosity. The Champions League winners have won seven of their last eight games and should comfortably progress.
Score prediction: Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 Inter Miami
Flamengo vs Bayern Munich (Sunday, 9pm)
Flamengo have brought their strong domestic form into this competition and will fancy their chances of seeing off Bayern Munich after beating Chelsea in the group stages. Their German opponents thumped part-timers Auckland 10-0 but lost to Benfica and have not really looked at the races.
Score prediction: Flamengo 2-1 Bayern Munich
Inter Milan vs Fluminense (Monday, 8pm)
Fluminense were unbeaten in Group F but failed to score against both Borussia Dortmund and Mamelodi Sundowns, so they may not possess the firepower to trouble Inter Milan, who have responded well to their 5-0 Champions League final defeat to PSG.
Score prediction: Inter Milan 2-0 Fluminense
Manchester City vs Al-Hilal (Tuesday, 2am)
Manchester City have looked the strongest team in the tournament and have scored 13 goals already. Saudi Pro league Al-Hilal have done well to get this far and have plenty of experience, but this looks a step too far.
Score prediction: Manchester City 3-1 Al-Hilal
Real Madrid vs Juventus (Tuesday, 8pm)
&w=707&quality=100)
Juventus are likely to be shell-shocked after their 5-2 thumping at the hands of Manchester City in their final group game and things will not get any easier against Real Madrid, who have scored at least twice in eight of their last nine games and are growing into the tournament.
Score prediction: Real Madrid 2-1 Juventus
Borussia Dortmund vs Monterrey (Wednesday, 2am)
This could be a real scrap for Group F winners Dortmund, who scored just once against pointless Ulsan and failed to net against Fluminense. Monterrey conceded just once in their three matches, drawing with Inter Milan and River Plate, so they will be no respectors of reputations and can take this one into extra-time.
Score prediction: Borussia Dortmund 1-1 Monterrey
