Pep Guardiola's Manchester City endured a disappointing campaign but remain one of the tournament favourites

- Manchester City make their first appearance against Wydad Casablanca
- Real Madrid begin their campaign against Al Hilal
- Pachuca face Red Bull Salzburg in Cincinnati
- Al Ain meet Juventus in the final match of the first set of fixtures

There are four more games coming up in the Club World Cup with European heavyweights Real Madrid, Manchester City and Juventus entering the fray.

The Old Lady faces Al Ain and Wydad Casablanca are up against City in Group G, while Al Hilal take on the might of Los Blancos and Pachuca play Red Bull Salzburg in Group H.

Al Ain vs Juventus (Thursday, 2am)

Juventus are not currently the powerhouse club they have been at times in the past and perhaps surprisingly this is their first appearance in the Club World Cup.

The Old Lady finished a respectable fourth in Serie A last season, though, losing only four of their 38 league games, and it would be disappointing if they did not at least qualify for the quarter-finals.

Al Ain, from the United Arab Emirates, won the 2023-24 AFC Champions League but they are on their third coach of the season and finished only fifth in their domestic league.

Expect the Italian side to secure a trouble-free success.

Score prediction: Al Ain 0-3 Juventus

Manchester City vs Wydad Casablanca (Wednesday, 5pm)

Manchester City will be the second and final Premier League team to appear at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup when they meet Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca on Wednesday.

City earned their place alongside Chelsea in the competition by winning the 2023 Champions League and will be defending their title in the expanded 32-team tournament after winning it at the first attempt two years ago.

They needed to play only two matches to win that trophy, beating Urawa Red Diamonds 3-0 before seeing off Fluminense 4-0 in the final, and Pep Guardiola's team should get off to a comfortable start.

Wadad, the 2022 CAF Champions League winners, have taken their preparation seriously and lost narrowly to Sevilla and Porto last month, but they are likely to struggle to test the Premier League side.

Score prediction: Manchester City 4-0 Wydad Casablanca

Real Madrid vs Al Hilal (Wednesday, 8pm)

Real Madrid are the most successful team in the history of the Club World Cup and their opening 2025 match is a repeat of the fixture from their most recent success, when they beat Al Hilal 5-3 in the 2022 final for their fifth victory.

The Saudi side can have hopes of qualifying from the group with games against Pachuca and Red Bull Salzburg to come, but they are not likely to upset the Spanish side in their opening match.

Another eight-goal thriller might be too much to ask for but Al Hilal have enough firepower to get on the scoresheet at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Score prediction: Real Madrid 3-1 Al Hilal

Pachuca vs FC Salzburg (Wednesday, 11pm)

The other two teams in Group H can arguably count themselves lucky to be mixing it with the world's elite and their opening match represents the best chance for both Pachuca and FC Salzburg to avoid going home pointless.

The Austrian side really struggled in the Champions League this season, losing seven of their eight league-phase games and scoring only five goals while conceding 27.

Mexicans Pachuca also had a tough year, finishing eighth in their domestic league after winning the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup. They look more likely of the pair to edge a victory if anyone does, but the draw may prove to be the best bet.

Score prediction: Pachuca 1-1 FC Salzburg
