Chesterfield came from behind to draw 1-1 with Gillingham, leaving Gareth Ainsworth still waiting for his first win since taking charge of the Gills.

Elliott Nevitt put the visitors ahead in the first half but they had to settle for a point following Will Grigg’s goal inside the final quarter-hour.

Dylan Duffy threatened for the hosts in the opening minute, firing in a shot which was deflected wide.
For the opening goal in the 14th minute, Aaron Rowe played the ball back to Nevitt who beat Ryan Boot with a low shot.

Gillingham’s Conor Masterson headed over from a corner towards the end of the half.

Boot kept Chesterfield in it with a save from Rowe early after the restart.

Ash Palmer and Michael Olakigbe then both threatened for the hosts while Liam Mandeville put a free-kick just over.

The equaliser came in the 77th minute when Ryan Colclough sent over a low cross which was met by Grigg, who fired home at the near post.

Colclough had a chance to score the winner late on, volleying off target.
