Charlton vs Wycombe predictions: Addicks can advance with Valley victory

&w=707&quality=100)
- Charlton have won 10 of their last 11 home matches
- Wycombe have gone four games without winning for the first time this season
- Recommended bet: Charlton to win
Sunday’s 0-0 draw between Wycombe and Charlton was desperately short of quality and leaves both teams with the challenge of raising their game for the crucial return match at the Valley in the second leg of their League One play-off semi-final.
Wycombe suffered three straight losses towards the end of the 46-game season and decided to go back-to-basics with a rugged, safety-first performance.
But it was perhaps slightly surprising that their cautious approach was largely mirrored by Charlton, who had finished the campaign so strongly.
However, the Addicks have won 15 of 23 home league games this term, including a 2-1 triumph over Wycombe and will fancy their chances of taking another step towards promotion.

Charlton’s Chuks Aneke has completed a three-game ban incurred as a consequence of a red card received during last month’s 4-0 league victory at Wycombe.
Lloyd Jones shook off an injury to start Sunday’s opening leg and winger Thierry Small returned to the side as a second-half substitute. Miles Leaburn (quad) has missed the last two months.
Wycombe must battle on without midfielder Josh Scowen (knee) and striker Sam Vokes (broken arm), who will play no part in the play-offs. They are joined in the treatment room by left-back Daniel Harvie (knee) and winger Bez Lubala (hamstring).

Prediction
Charlton have shut out Wycombe in the last two meetings between the teams and their solid defence could lay the foundation for victory in the second leg.
Nathan Jones’s side finished just one point ahead of Wycombe in the table, but they have been the superior side in recent months.
The Addicks were outside of the top six at the beginning of March but won 11 of their final 15 league games and almost got involved in the race for automatic promotion.
Wycombe chased a top-two finish for the majority of the campaign but their performances have dipped at a crucial stage.
The Chairboys netted just once in their last four games and another blank could signal the end of their promotion push.
