Charlton made it five successive home wins in League One as they swept aside Exeter 3-0.
The Grecians fell behind in the 20th minute when Luke Berry’s free-kick was deflected into his own net by Angus MacDonald.
Tyreece Campbell then made sure of the points – and capped off an excellent individual display – in the 68th minute with a precision low finish from the edge of the box before Miles Leaburn added a late third.
Having taken the lead through MacDonald’s own goal, Charlton pushed for a second and Exeter goalkeeper Joe Whitworth blocked a close-range attempt at his near post from Berry before Thierry Small’s wicked cross just evaded Campbell on the stroke of half-time.
Charlton, only outside the League One play-offs on goal difference, continued their dominance in the second half and Karoy Anderson’s close-range header from a Campbell cross was kept out by Whitworth.
Anderson also guided a header narrowly wide from Kayne Ramsay’s cross in the 57th minute before Campbell scored the goal that Charlton had been looking for as they doubled their advantage.
Substitute Leaburn added the hosts’ third goal in the 84th minute to seal a convincing victory. Ramsay’s pass sent the striker through on the right of the box to produce a low finish into the bottom left corner of the net.
