Burton moved off the bottom of Sky Bet League One thanks to a 2-1 comeback victory at Wigan.

Wigan took the lead after 32 minutes through their man-of-the-moment Thelo Aasgaard.

The Norway Under-21 international took delivery of a superb through ball from on-loan Nottingham Forest striker Dale Taylor before rifling home with his left foot.

However, the lead lasted only two minutes, as Owen Dodgson’s cross found Rumarn Burrell, who fired straight at Sam Tickle. The rebound fell to Jon Dadi Bodvarsson to net his first Burton goal from close range.

Burton almost took the lead at the beginning of the second period when JJ McKiernan cut inside Jason Kerr and shaped to shoot, only to be denied by a brilliant block from Will Aimson.

However, Wigan did not heed the warning and Burton went in front just before the hour mark when Charlie Webster and Dodgson supplied Burrell, who found the back of the net.

Wigan rallied and hit a post through Taylor after a good cross from on-loan Leicester winger Silko Thomas.

New signing Jon Mellish lined up the rebound, but his shot was diverted behind for a corner.
