Burton kept their Sky Bet League One survival hopes alive with a second half comeback to seal a 2-1 win over Leyton Orient.

Charlie Webster and Rumarn Burrell were Albion’s saviours, edging their team closer to safety after Dan Agyei had given the visitors an early lead.

Agyei bagged his fifth League goal of the campaign after just 10 minutes, bundling the ball over the line after Max Crocombe had saved Charlie Kelman’s effort.

Julian Larsson and JJ McKiernan both went close for the hosts in a first half played at a frenetic pace and leading scorer Burrell could only find the side-netting after skipper Ryan Sweeney had seen an effort cleared off the line.

Defensive lynchpin Sweeney had to come off just before half-time after bravely blocking Diallang Jaiyasemi’s close range effort as Orient threatened to double their lead.

But Albion produced a stirring second-half recovery to score twice in four minutes and seize the initiative.

Webster was the instigator, tucking in Owen Dodgson’s cross at the back post on the hour, before seeing a 25-yard effort hit both posts before Burrell tapped home his eighth goal of the season for what proved to be the winner.

However, Burton needed an outstanding save from Crocombe in added time to preserve the three points as he clawed away Dan Happe’s header.
