A three-way race for two automatic promotion spots in the Championship now appears to be veering towards Leeds and Burnley.

The Clarets were second on goal difference behind Leeds as they prepare to welcome third-placed Sheffield United to Turf Moor on Easter Monday.

Leeds will be done and dusted by the time this contest kicks off after entertaining Stoke, so this pair will know what is required. Burnley are five points ahead of the Blades with three games left and a point here will not hurt Scott Parker's side.

Team News

Burnley boss Parker could opt for an unchanged starting XI after the 2-1 win over Watford at Vicarage Road.

Hannibal Mejbri has impressed in two recent starts, scoring in the home win over Norwich and teeing up Josh Brownhill for the all-important winner against the Hornets. His form means Josh Laurent may remain on the bench.

Defensive duo Jack Robinson and Femi Seriki could be pushing for starts for Sheffield United but Chris Wilder has doubts over Tom Davies, Harry Clarke and Gustavo Hamer.

Burnley are undefeated in their last 30 Championship matches since losing at Millwall in November.

Burnley have drawn nine of their 21 home matches this season.

There have been under 2.5 goals in six of Sheffield United's last eight Championship games.

Only Burney (46) have more points away from home than Sheffield United (40) this season.

The Blades lost three times on the trot before defeating Cardiff City 2-0 at Bramall Lane on Friday.

Burnley have conceded just six times in 21 home league games this season.

Prediction

Sheffield United have their backs firmly to the wall ahead of this trip to Turf Moor, a damaging run of three straight losses before Friday's win over Cardiff meaning they are now five points behind their hosts with just three games left to play.

Anything but a win here will leave Wilder's Blades in real peril of facing the dreaded play-offs as the third-place finisher, something traditionally that does not end well in the Championship.

Burnley's 21 games unbeaten at Turf Moor in the Championship has been based on a superb defensive record of conceding just six goals.

They have, though, drawn nine times and the Blades have been excellent on the road, winning 12 times from 21 attempts. They are also defensively very solid, breached just 17 times in that sequence.

With so much at stake, it is not hard to imagine a tense and fraught 90 minutes unfolding here and these sides may cancel each other out, an outcome that will be more pleasing to the home side.
