Burnley vs Luton Town predictions: Clarets can close the gap

&w=707&quality=100)
- Burnley have kept clean sheets in 12 of their last 13 league matches
- Luton have lost 13 of their last 14 Championship away fixtures
- Recommended bet: Burnley win to nil
Burnley maintained their promotion push with Tuesday's 2-1 triumph at Cardiff and they will be targeting another vital victory when taking on Luton at Turf Moor on Saturday.
Scott Parker's side stretched their unbeaten run to 22 league games with their win in the Welsh capital, which lifted them to within two points of second-placed Sheffield United and just five short of leaders Leeds.
But the downside of their visit to Wales was the concession of a league goal for the first time since December.
While Burnley are used to reeling off clean sheets, third-bottom Luton have been struggling to score.
The Bedfordshire side have netted just three goals in their last seven matches, although one of those came at the weekend when Jordan Clark's first-half strike secured a vital 1-0 victory at home to Portsmouth.
Team news
Aaron Ramsey is back in training after a cruciate knee ligament injury but was not involved in Burnley's midweek trip to Cardiff.
Jordan Beyer is another player lacking match fitness while Enock Agyei, Mike Tresor and Nathan Redmond are still recovering from injuries.
Injured Hatters' contingent Reece Burke, Daiki Hashioka, Marvelous Nakamba, Shandon Baptiste and Teden Mengi were absent at the weekend.
However, Kal Naismith and Mark McGuinness returned to the fray after missing the previous game.
Centre-forward Carlton Morris may continue to get the nod over Elijah Adebayo, who has not started either of the last two fixtures.
The stats
Burnley have kept six successive clean sheets in home matches, winning the last three of those.
The Clarets have opened the scoring in four of their last five league fixtures.
Luton have been beaten 2-0 in three of their last five away matches.
All of Luton's last seven matches have featured less than three goals.
Prediction
&w=707&quality=100)
Burnley have been making a decent fist of their effort to secure an immediate return to the Premier League and can enhance their cause by posting a victory and a shutout against Luton.
While a swift top flight return looks possible for Burnley, a second successive relegation is looming for Luton, who are five points inside the drop zone with 11 games left to play.
The Hatters were 1-0 winners at home to Portsmouth last Saturday but their survival quest is being constantly undermined by an inability to pick up points on the road.
Luton have taken just five points from their 17 away games and seem unlikely to boost that tally against the Clarets, who have preserved the only unbeaten home record in the division.
