Brighton vs West Ham predictions: Seagulls set to outscore hapless Hammers

&w=707&quality=100)
- Brighton are sitting 10th in the table, nine points behind seventh-placed Aston Villa
- West Ham are down in 17th place and without a win in six
- Recommended bet: Brighton to win and both teams to score
A run of five Premier League games without a win has seen Brighton’s European aspirations fade rapidly and Fabian Hurzeler will simply just be looking to end his first season in England on a high now, starting with a win against West Ham on Saturday.
Both sides could desperately do with an upturn in form as they look to build towards next season, but the Hammers were so woeful against basement boys Southampton last time out that it could be worth siding with the Seagulls to edge a thriller at the Amex Stadium.
Team news
Brighton’s injury crisis may be finally nearing its end. Adam Webster, Georginio Rutter, Igor, James Milner, Tariq Lamptey, Joel Veltman and Ferdi Kadioglu are closing in on a return and could feature.
Jan Paul van Hecke will need to be assessed alongside those Seagulls stars after being forced off against Brentford but Jason Steele remains sidelined and Joao Pedro is suspended.
Crysencio Summerville and Michail Antonio are injured for the Hammers, who will also be unable to call upon Evan Ferguson against his parent club.
Graham Potter will be hoping Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Edson Alvarez and Aaron Cresswell recover from their knocks as he will be keen to shake things up after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Southampton.
The stats
&w=707&quality=100)
Brighton are without a win in five Premier League matches.
The Seagulls have, however, netted an impressive seven goals in that run despite their overall struggles.
West Ham are winless in six, losing three times in that sequence.
Both teams have scored in six of Brighton’’s last seven league games and in six of the Hammers’ last eight away fixtures.
Brighton have lost just one of their 15 top-flight meetings with West Ham.
Prediction
Potter will expect a reaction from his side after a dreadful 1-1 draw with rock-bottom Southampton, which resulted in a fiery post-match interview from Niclas Fullkrug in which he criticised a lack of effort from his teammates.
Luckily for the Hammers, they are all but safe despite sitting 17th and the remainder of the season will be used by Potter to evaluate his players. However, he may be just as unhappy with the state of his squad this Saturday as he was the last, with the Hammers unlikely to get anything from their trip to the Amex.
Brighton have struggled themselves of late but they have lost just one of their last seven home matches within 90 minutes and they have still been scoring throughout their sticky patch, netting twice against Manchester City and Brentford in recent games.
The Seagulls also have an excellent record against the Hammers, losing just one of the 15 Premier League meetings, and they should earn three more points in their bid for a top-10 finish.
West Ham do tend to play with more freedom on their travels, though, netting at Manchester City, Aston Villa (twice), Liverpool and Arsenal under Potter
They should get on the scoresheet in defeat against Brighton, who have seen both teams to score in six of their last seven league games.
