Barnet are four points behind National League leaders York after being held to a 0-0 draw by Oldham at the Hive.
Following a 5-3 victory for the Minstermen over Hartlepool earlier on Saturday, the third-placed Bees went closest in the 83rd minute when Anthony Hartigan struck the bar.
Moments later Rhys Browne saw his shot kept out by a fine save from Oldham goalkeeper Mathew Hudson, who had done well in the first half to deny Bailey Hobson.
Dean Brennan’s men also had a Ben Coker effort disallowed for offside with around 20 minutes to go as they failed to make a breakthrough against an Oldham outfit who stay fifth.
