The first Premier League encounter between Arsenal and West Ham this season saw the Gunners stroll to a 5-2 victory at the London Stadium in an incredible match in which all seven goals arrived in the first half.

With Mikel Arteta's team in fine form and Graham Potter struggling to turn things around in his first six weeks as West Ham manager, it would be no surprise to see Arsenal scoring at least three more goals in their clash at the Emirates.

Arsenal enjoyed a rare blank midweek to recharge their batteries having earned the right to skip the Champions League play-off round by finishing in the top eight of the league phase.

With another home game against Leicester next on the agenda there will be no need for them to hold anything back in this match.

The Gunners have the chance to close within five points of leaders Liverpool with 13 league matches left to play and they have lost only two of their first 25 games and are unbeaten in 12 home top-flight fixtures.

West Ham are in an uncomfortable 16th position but with a 10-point gap between themselves and the bottom three, Potter still has some time to try to get things moving in the right direction.

Defender Takehiro Tomiyasu became the latest Arsenal player to be ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery this week while Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are other long-term absentees. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are still out of action.

West Ham are still without Niclas Fullkrug, Crysencio Summerville and Michail Antonio. 

Recent signing Evan Ferguson could get the chance to start after making his Hammers debut as a substitute against Brentford.

While injury problems have blighted their top attacking options, with Jesus, Saka, Havertz and Martinelli all out of action currently, it has not had a profound effect on their goalscoring output, and they have scored 12 goals in their last five league games.

The Hammers haven't kept a clean sheet in their last eight outings and their home hammering by the Gunners was far from the only time their defence has failed to cope with the firepower of a leading team.

West Ham conceded five goals to Liverpool and four to Manchester City in back-to-back games in December. 

They could be in for another tough time at the Emirates against a freshened-up home side as the Gunners look to make the most of seeing Liverpool drop points in their midweek trip to Aston Villa.
