Arsenal vs Paris Saint-Germain predictions: Gunners can gain key advantage

&w=707&quality=100)
- Arsenal enjoyed memorable Champions League last-eight success over Real Madrid
- PSG are looking to knock out a third Premier League side from this season’s competition
- Recommended bet: Arsenal to win
We are down to the last four teams in this season’s Champions League and both Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain will be dreaming of getting their hands on European football’s biggest prize for the first time.
The Gunners should be confident they can gain a first-leg advantage in their semi-final, having beaten the Ligue 1 champions 2-0 earlier this season, but the Parisians have already accounted for Liverpool and Aston Villa in this year’s competition and will have their eyes on a Premier League hat-trick.
Team news
Hopes are high that Riccardo Calafiori, Ben White and Mikel Merino can force their way into contention, but Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Magalhaes, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Jorginho and Kai Havertz will be missing while Thomas Partey is suspended.
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has no injury or suspension concerns to deal with before the trip to London.
The stats
&w=707&quality=100)
Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 12 matches in all competitions.
The Gunners have conceded in just one of their six home Champions League games this season — a 2-2 draw with PSV Eindhoven.
Both teams have scored in 10 of Paris Saint-Germain’s last 13 games.
Six of PSG’s last eight away matches have featured at least three goals.
Arsenal have scored at least twice in eight of their last 11 outings at the Emirates.
Prediction
Arsenal celebrated their greatest night since moving to the Emirates Stadium when they beat Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final and they should establish an advantage from their first semi-final meeting against Paris Saint-Germain.
The Gunners have already enjoyed a 2-0 win over Luis Enrique’s teams in the league stage of the competition and it took the Ligue 1 leaders a while to find their Champions League feet this term.
While they did account for Premier League leaders Liverpool in the last-16, they needed penalties to get over the line and then lost the away leg of their quarter-final against Aston Villa in their last game in the competition.
Their recent league results have been underwhelming after they posted a 1-1 draw with Nantes and then lost 3-1 at home to Nice, which is perhaps understandable as they have been in charge of the French top flight all season.
That Nice loss was their first in their league campaign, but this looks a lot tougher and with the Emirates likely to be buzzing, the Londoners, who have won five and drawn one of their six European home games this season, should head to Paris next week ahead in the tie.
