Antoni Sarcevic scored twice as Bradford continued their promotion push with a ninth straight home win.
But it was a fourth defeat in five games for MK Dons, who have won just once since New Year’s Day.
Bradford took the lead after 11 minutes as Michael Mellon forced a mistake in the MK defence and set up Sarcevic to slot past keeper Connal Trueman.
The home side thought they should have had a penalty when Callum Johnson went down under pressure from Travis Patterson – though Patterson then felt he was hard done by as referee Sebastian Stockbridge waved away a challenge in the Bradford box by Aden Baldwin.
Bobby Pointon went close for the home side early in the second half and set up Sarcevic for a header that was scrambled away.
The pair then combined again for Bradford’s second goal on the hour, Sarcevic running onto Pointon’s pass and rounding Trueman to score.
Danilo Orsi tried to pull one back for the visitors but was denied by Sam Walker’s save.
