The 2025/26 Premier League season gets underway on Friday as Champions Liverpool host Bournemouth at Anfield.
Arne Slot’s side looks to get their campaign off to a strong start following a pre-season stumble at Wembley in the Community Shield, while Andoni Iraola and Bournemouth look to build off the back of a record-breaking season last year.

Liverpool have not lost their opening match of the season in their last 12.
Bournemouth have lost their last five matches against Liverpool.
Following a summer of sales and signings, Liverpool are set to start the defence of their Premier League crown on Friday night after a disappointing loss in the Community Shield to Crystal Palace on penalties last weekend.
Showing signs of the form that saw them finish 10 points clear of second-place Arsenal last season, new signings Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike have been added to the attack, already showing what they are capable of teaming up to score at Wembley. The Reds could still add to their attack with the transfer window open until the end of the month, especially following the exits of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.
Bournemouth return to the Premier League following a fantastic ninth-placed finish last season, with things not looking to be as smooth sailing, having lost many of their key defensive stars over the summer. Illia Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez have all moved on, while goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has joined Arsenal. Kerkez could be making his Premier League debut for new club Liverpool against his old side.
Liverpool
Ryan Gravenberch will be absent from the Liverpool side for the opening fixture of the season, following his sending off on the final day of the season back in May.
Joe Gomez is a doubt due to injury, while Conor Bradley faces a race against time to be fit.
Bournemouth
Lewis Cook will miss out due to serving the second of a three-match ban following his red card against Manchester City towards the end of last season.
Enes Unal remains out of the side with a knee injury. Further injuries to Ryan Christie, Luis Sinisterra, and Justin Kluivert could also cause the trio to remain on the sidelines.
Liverpool to Win - 3/10
Mo Salah to Score First - 3/1
Hugo Ekitike to Score Anytime - 8/11
Both Teams to Score YES - 4/6
