Two European sides kickstart their 2025/26 Premier League campaign as Chelsea host Palace at Stamford Bridge. The Blues hope to continue what was a fantastic end to last season, securing the Europa Conference League title and a place in this season's Champions League on the final day. They have since gone on to lift the Club World Cup over the summer break, and after a successful transfer window, look set to be one of the ones to watch this season.
Palace are a side in form and will be coming in hot off the back of their Community Shield victory against Liverpool last time out. However, there is a sense of disappointment in the air following The Eagles' confirmation of demotion to the Europa Conference League from the Europa League due to multi-club ownership rules. Whether the European blow has had a knock-on effect is yet to be seen. The London side has become known as an issue for their opponents on occasion, often providing a difficult fixture, with the last two meetings resulting a draw.
Chelsea
Levi Colwill is out with an ACL injury, while Nicholas Jackson is suspended following his booking at the end of last season. Wesley Fofana is available again.
Crystal Palace
The Eagles face some major injury issues, with Daichi Kamada in doubt, and Chadi Riad, Cheick Doucoure, and Eddie Nketiah also carrying knocks.
